Audio Monitoring is heavily delayed

Up until 27.1.3, I had no problems whatsoever with audio monitoring. However every version after this makes the monitoring get delayed after some time. It basically always happens when I start a game or program , or if I tab out and back in. The newly started program doesn't even need to use the audio source to cause the delay.

The most affected audio souce is the "Game Audio", that uses a virtual audio cable. The other sources seem fine so far, yet they also are virtual cables.

regarding the uploaded files:
File 1 is with the current version 27.2.4 (where to the end the delay occurred. The log says buffering was actively added)
File 2 is with the last working version 27.1.3. Obviously I did not encounter any issue with this one. It is more for comparison if any differences can be spotted.

I too have encountered this exact problem! I've tried so many things to try to correct the issue but to no avail.
This issue is present in 27.2.1 all the way to 27.2.4. I've installed the older version 27.1.3 and the audio worked just fine with the exact same settings.
I've done fresh installs of OBS, using the default scenes to add just the audio sources and the delay is still present. I even went as far as to reinstall windows to see if something was broken on that end, this still did not fix the issue.

I've even tried to swap out Virtual Audio Cable applications and the issue is still present. Originally using VB-Audio Cable https://vb-audio.com/Cable/index.htm then swapping over to https://vac.muzychenko.net/en/ and the delay was present in both of the audio cable sources.

If monitoring audio through OBS there is a delay in each virtual cable audio source from the old version 27.1.3, but the delay is worse and gets even worse over time for the Game Audio cable (Which in my case is set as the default audio source in windows) in particular. This is testable by listening to the device through OBS monitoring the source and listening to the virtual audio cable through windows, this delay gets noticeably worse the longer OBS is open. But can take 30 min to an hour to be completely noticeable in normal gameplay, but becomes incredibly apparent by that point and again worsens over time.

has anyone found a solution to this yet? the only thing that has "worked" for me is restarting obs every time i notice a delay, but ofcourse thats not really a solution. Any fix?

I really wish the audio monitor plugin hadn't had that issue, I have to keep restarting obs when audio starts delaying, hapenes most often for me when I have a case of like a lag or something that uses up your whole PCs power and cause a stutter of system which straight causes the audio to delay like 2-3 seconds
