Question / Help Audio Monitoring Device not changing?

I'm a happy OBS streamer on OSX, and enjoying the new 18.0.1. I'm trying to better my audio routing and was really excited about being able to change the audio monitoring device. Now unfortunately it would appear that no matter what device I choose, the audio monitoring only goes through my system's main interface :( Is that true?

This actually claims to be set to the right device "17:45:09.076: id: AppleUSBAudioEngine:Astro Gaming:Astro A50:14100000:1"
yet the monitor signal comes to the system default interface.

I've noted this bug on a few threads and just found the same problem today. The Output monitoring shows input devices as well as output devices, and despite what's selected just uses the system default.

Little help? :)
