Hi,
I am looking for some help on an issue I am having with audio monitoring, which I know is fairly new feature to OBS.
My issue/bug is as follows:
When switching between scenes that have different audio inputs or media sources which are being monitored (via audio monitoring in advanced settings) the media sources stop working over the audio monitor.
Example Use Case:
-----------------------
Scene A: Microphone and Game Sounds are separate audio inputs. They are being monitored.
Scene B: Microphone, Game Sounds, and Music (local media source) are inputs. They are being monitored.
On Scene A:
The Microphone and Game Sounds continue to work as intended. The audio monitor works for both audio inputs.
Switch to Scene B:
The Microphone and Game Sounds continue to work as intended. The audio monitor works for both audio inputs.
The Music (local media source) input begins to work just fine. The audio monitor allows you to listen to all three audio sources.
Switch back to Scene A:
The Microphone and Game sounds audio sources continue to work. The Music (local media source) input stops being monitored. Works as intended.
Switch back to Scene B:
The Microphone and Game sounds audio sources work just fine. The Music (local media source) input does not come back on. The audio monitoring for this source breaks. (The Audio source continues to output audio correctly and the audio bar in OBS still shows file activity)
----------------------
Second Bug
Sometimes, the monitor for the local audio file just stops working entirely. The output continues, and the MP3 file remains active, showing the green bar in the OBS mixer as active, but the MP3 file stops playing in the audio monitor. After a short time the file starts over at the beginning when you choose to have an active "loop".
The audio from the local media source works as intended when outputting to a local recording or to an external streaming service. The issue is entirely with audio monitoring.
----------------------
I know I could just pipe music into my main sound device through voicemeeter as a workaround, but I do like that you can have separate audio feeds in OBS and in the mixer there to simplify scene specific music. This makes going on break, starting or ending a stream super easy if you have a file that plays by just switching scenes. And having the audio monitor allows for me to make sure audio levels are fine, or feed the music to a capture card when using main PC as the production PC outputting both audio and video to one capture card (using OBS screen preview on Cap Card monitor and virtual audio cables).
------------------------
Log file does not differ when recording/streaming/monitoring. Works fine on output just not an audio monitor. Seems like any related errors are not being logged
