Audio Mixer

Hello everyone,

I have a question about Audio Mixer. The first time I opened OBS I had "Desktop Audio" and Mic/Aux".
To be able to record screen and both desktop and mic audio I added "macOS Screen Capture" and "Audio Input Capture".

Now I have those 4 values in Audio Mixer: "Audio Input Capture", "macOS Screen Capture", "Desktop Audio" and Mic/Aux".
"Audio Input Capture" and "Mic/Aux" show the same levels - they record the mic.

Did I do something wrong? Why do I have items in Audio Mixer by default that do nothing?
I want to record screen video, desktop and mic audio.

Thank you very much.

There are global sources in Settings -> Audio, which are not part of any scene and are always on/active. You can disable them from there if you don't want them.

Personally, I try to have all of my audio as global, and manage it separately. My video transitions and audio mix usually have little to do with each other. YMMV.

Hello Aaron, thank you very much for your response!
It looks cleaner now, does your settings look similar?

You went the other way than I do, which is fine. You have your audio in the scene, which goes away when you switch scenes, and comes back when you switch back. If that's what you want, then you're good.

I produce audio and video separately, and very rarely do I want both to transition at the same time. So I don't have any scene-specific audio, and I make it all global instead.
