Audio mixer does not reflect updates when sources are added or removed and when scenes change

I am a relatively new user of OBS Studio, so I don't know if what I'm about to describe is normal behavior or not. When I create a new scene and add a new audio source, I do not see the new audio source showing up in the audio mixer view unless I stop OBS and start it up again. The same thing happens if I remove the audio source from the scene. The audio mixer continues to show the audio source that was removed until I stop OBS and start again. I also notice that if I have multiple scenes with different audio sources, the audio mixer view does not change when I switch scenes. It appears that the audio mixer view displays the sources for the scene that was active when OBS was last stopped, and that view remains no matter which scene is active.

So, is this normal?
P.S. I'm running Windows 10. I see this on 2 different PCs. One had OBS 2.5.0.8 and the other 2.6.0.0.

OK. I think I figured it out. Please forgive my inexperience with OBS Studio. I discovered once I clicked on the Transition button to move the scene from Preview to Program view, then the Audio Mixer view changed to reflect the active scene. This makes sense!

I just want to say that your post is not in vain. I was on the same dilemma and had to search online about it. This post is heaven sent. Thank you!

I agree, THANK YOU, I was wondering why my audio source was on a scene, and that's only with your post that I found I needed to change my scene using my hotkey to refresh everything. That seems to be a bug to me. Thanks again !

It's a very good idea for me! "Fixing" it, would be a bug.

When you add something, it's practically guaranteed to be wrong at first. Then you set it right, and *then* you make it live. You're asking for it to be live immediately, before it's right.

Also, what you're describing sounds like Studio Mode, which I always use. Do you also have two video windows? Non-Studio Mode has only one video window, and it *is* more immediate, live-editing.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand your answer at all...

But no, no Studio Mode involved in this issue.
Here is what I did :
- All global sounds are disabled.
- I have one Nested Scene with 6 audio tracks (global mix, mic, windows/game, discord, media, music 1) included in almost all scenes.
- I have one Nested Scene with only 1 audio track (music 2) which is included in 3 scenes that only have music (Start, Wait and End stream).
- That 1 audio track (music 2) was only added in the second Nested Scene but was visible in EVERY scenes audio mixer !.
- I did a loooot of tweaks here and there (and deleted and put it again, reboot OBS, searching all parameters possibles...), nothing to do to get rid of it! Until I saw this old post. I push my hotkey to switch my scene to another, and poof! It disapeard from all scenes (except the 3 I needed).

I don't know why he behaved like this. :) But nevermind, it's fixed now, and I wanted to thanks the guy who helped me. :D

Either (not_a_bug)
or
or
depending on complexity of the scene collection and your settings.
