Question / Help Audio Issues...

Hey guys!

Recently downloaded obs and having a lot of problems with it.
I followed a guide on how to set it all up which seemed to work.
However, i cannot seem to get the audio to work. It either captures my game music and not my mic or vice versa. I have got it to work a few times and successfully recorded some video, but it seems to reset each time after recording.

I have set up two audio tracks in the output - recording tab, and in the Audio tab i have the desktop audio device set to my headphones (i don't have speakers), and my mic/aux audio device set to my microphone.
I have also went into the mixer and set the desktop audio to track 1 and my mic to track 2.
It is very frustrating trying to figure out why it is not working correctly. I am using MP4 if that helps.
Any help would be greatly appreciated before i give up on this software.

Thanks

Players are generally only going to play back a single audio track at a time. If you want them combined in the final output, you need to set track 1 to all the devices, and then use the remaining tracks to break it out as necessary for your post work.

Also, don't record directly to MP4, that's asking for trouble.

Record to FLV or MKV. If you record to MP4 and the recording is interrupted, the file will be corrupted and unrecoverable. If you require MP4 files for some other purpose like editing, remux them afterwards. OBS Studio users select File > Remux Recordings.

Thanks for the reply. When i try to record to the same track, the mic volume is very low compared to the game volume.
I just cannot understand why it works sometimes and not others.
