Monitor goes to your headphones or local speakers.
Output goes through the Tracks, to the stream and recording.
Then you have to have at least one track enabled to record:

You can record multiple tracks, but they don't mix. They're meant for alternative audio, like different languages, descriptive for the visually impaired, etc. Some people use them to keep things separate to mix later. If you want to have the recording "just work" and hear everything, put everything on Track 1 (first screenshot) and record Track 1 (second or third screenshot, depending on which mode you're using).
Don't just copy the settings, but understand what they do. You might need something different than what I have. This didnt work I just here myself through the speakers but not on the recording
How do you check which track your soundtrack is on? And could you also explain the picture for me?Don't just copy the settings, but understand what they do. You might need something different than what I have.
Like I said to someone else in a different thread:

It's also possible that you're recording on Track 2 or something like that. So the soundtrack is actually there, but your player is set for Track 1. Might be even be hard-coded for Track 1; some of them are.
The picture is the "wiring", if you will, behind the settings. Most of the switch symbols are checkboxes, and the 6-position switch on the right is a set of radio buttons. How do you check which track your soundtrack is on? And could you also explain the picture for me?
These are my Settings. I`ve just realized that I may have the wrong audio encoder and maybe thats causing the issues. But I don`t know what else could be causing the issues. The picture is the "wiring", if you will, behind the settings. Screenshot your settings, like I did mine, and post here, along with a description of what you think it's supposed to be doing according to how you've set those settings. Maybe highlight the path in the wiring that you think the signal is taking, and post that too.
Those settings should work, as far as you've shown. Even for players that only play Track 1 and don't have an option to change that. These are my Settings. turns out just after I sent my last reply I changed my audio encoder to FFmpeg AAC and that seemed to do the trick! Thank you so much for all the guidance to get my audio back working, and to teach me about the audio tracks in OBS.Those settings should work, as far as you've shown. What else do you have?
