Question / Help Audio isn't outputting

Hi, I'm new to OBS studio. I'm trying to record gameplay off of my HTC Vive but for some reason, the audio isn't exporting when I view the file. Here's a screenshot of my settings. Any suggestions? Also, is there a way to boost game audio + mic like how you can in the classic OBS?

Hey I just joined :) The suggestion they will give you is VLC player, which works fine indeed.

If you want to use VLC player that is, I personally really don't like the interface so am not happy with that. As technically advanced etc etc etc it is I think it simply looks horrible and is not user friendly.

Strange thing is it worked fine for me using FLV during setup and fine tuning (which there was a bit to do to make it work). Then I decided to use MP4 when the sound stopped recording.

I found the VLC solution which does work (granted) but I don't like, so I switched back to MP4, unfortunatly thats where it stopped working all together on anything but VLC. Now it doesn't matter if switch back to MP4 or FLV, nothing works on Media Player or Cyberlink Power Media Player for that matter.

So in summary, I think "forcing people" to use VLC is a work around and not a fix, and SOMEHOW it did work before....

Hope this helps somebody, but for now I am stuck with VLC and not happy...

As an alternative, you can install the CoreAudio toolbox. Files created with that seem to play OK in Films & TV on Windows 10, so will probably work in Media Player too. Or, you can switch your audio recording bitrate to one not covered by the Media Foundation encoder (e.g. 192kbps) which might also work around the problem. The problem being that the Media Foundation encoder seems to be... sub-optimal.

What you call "forcing people" I would call "suggesting something which actually works" but each to their own, I guess.

@Simes, thanks for your reply mate, I will give that a go.

I am still scratching my head that it worked brilliantly, then switched from flv to mp4, stopped working, then switched back and it still didn't work...
