Hi, a beginner's question: I am using a headset; apparently I do not need to add a "Audio input capture" source to capture the audio from my headset microphone. And it works. So should I add this "Audio input capture" source , would it improve the quality of my audio?
Thanks.

If you have the microphone set up in the Global audio section (Settings->Audio) then you do not need to and should not add an Audio Input Capture source (doing so will cause doubled audio). I believe that the global settings default to Default, which will grab the system's default mic device.

AICs are for doing per-scene audio primarily, allowing you to have a scene where you can't accidentally have your mic active, for example, or if you have a large number of audio input sources to add, where the two slots in the global settings aren't enough. Same with Audio Output Capture sources, for playback devices.
