Audio heard through PC, but not in the recording file

Transferring VHS to PC via an AV to USB 2.0 cable. I can hear it through the audio monitoring while it's playing on OBS, but the file generated from recording doesn't have sound. I tried setting all the inputs my cable but I just can't get it recording. Is there a setting I'm missing?

I'm using a cheap USB dongle from Amazon to connect my VCR to the port on my PC. Audio is getting recorded but I can't seem to make the video work. It's a known-good set of RCA cables so I wouldn't immediately blame the cables. Are there any settings on Windows that will help get the video...
