Question / Help Audio device reverting to "default"

EDIT - Since posting this, I was able to figure out how to disable my webcam microphone through Windows settings. I suppose that answers my question, but I don’t know how to delete this post.

I am streaming on Mixer with OBS on a WIndows 10 PC. I am using a Logitech 922x webcam and an Arctis 7 Steel Series Headset with built-in microphone (this is a wireless headset that uses a USB dongle).

I have an Audio Capture Input established in OBS for my headset microphone. The selected device is "Headset Microphone (Arctis 7 chat)." Periodically, the headset microphone stops working for a few moments. I don't really understand why, and the audio continues to come through my headset, but it appears the PC loses the connection to the headset microphone somehow. This is irritating, but I've figured out how to reset the microphone audio to correct it when I notice it has happened.

My real problem is that whenever the headset microphone cuts out, OBS converts the Audio Input Control Device from "Headset Microphone (Arctis 7 chat)" to "Default." This causes my stream to suddenly include the audio from my webcam microphone. Then after a few moments my PC usually refreshes the USB connection to the headset and the issue corrects itself, with OBS reverting to using the Headset mic audio feed. But in the meantime, I have had several moments of audio streaming unexpectedly from my webcam microphone.

My question is, how do I prevent OBS from ever reverting to "Default" audio input? If my headset microphone drops out, I just want it to go silent. I never, under any circumstances, want audio to stream from my webcam. Aside from the fact that the webcam microphone is much lower quality, if I have the headset mic muted due to a private conversation, and suddenly the stream reverts to "Default" non-muted webcam audio, I'm pissed because it broadcasts my private conversation. I have tried to disable the webcam microphone through WIndows Device Manager (disabled under audio input, but had no effect) and through Logitech software (can't even find a way to do this). If my PC/OBS lose connection to my headset microphone, I just want it to go silent until I can reset it, not revert to audio from my webcam.
