Audio Detection

Hey all,

So long story short I've recently gotten a new headset since my last one literally just snapped whilst on my head without any prior damage.
Everything was working fine, all my settings were working etc and I was recording successfully for a few months until this new headset, I've tried looking at as many forum threads as possible but not come across a solution.

Here's my log files so any help would be appreciated!

p.s. the only issue I could potentially see was the AAC encoder, however when switching my audio to come out of my screen it does detect audio, also my microphone is working as intended.

Do you have any virtual/spatial surround options enabled, either through SteelSeries software or through windows audio? (windows settings -> system -> sound - > sound control panel, device properties, Spatial Sound)

Nope I checked this one, I even tried turning it on and off to see if it was just a data error.

As of right now spatial sound is just off

To clarify the situation, OBS is not showing any response in the mixer for audio sent to your headset, correct?

Just to run through the gambit...
- Run OBS as administrator
- Set OBS sample rate to 48000hz in Settings -> Audio
- In the advanced tab of the windows audio properties, turn "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" off
- Is speaker configuration set to 2-channel?
- Have you switched your desktop audio selection in OBS to the device itself instead of "Default"?
- Try adding the headset as an Audio Output Source in the scene instead of setting the global audio in Settings->Audio

If none of these work, try creating a new profile and scene collection, then add your headphones as an audio output source, and see if it responds.

Aye i've gone through all these, and nothing seemed to work.
However just before I started to double check all these I started getting a desktop audio response with no changes, I thought i'd refresh OBS to see if it would work after restarting and it isn't. However this was the difference in the log files

Hang on I checked through all the log files and it looks like it was a conflict between different audio output devices, so I've disabled all of the other audio devices I have connected to my computer and it seems to be working now, even though exclusivity was off there was just something weird going on
It was the invalidation of the headset that tipped me off, but thank you for helping!

That's weird... thanks for the detailed investigation and solution, I'll have to remember that one. Audio troubleshooting is honestly one of the hardest things to work out.
