Question / Help Audio delay while recording video.

OBS 21.1.0

Suddenly when I try to record video (from SNES9x) there's about a half second delay before the audio starts playing. Since the video begins playing immediately, this creates a desync between audio and video. I can't really provide more information since I don't think I changed anything that should affect this. Why is OBS adding a slight delay before it starts recording audio? It seems to do this regardless of what video format I choose. There's no sync offset set. It just started doing this today.

Yes, I see you want a copy of my log file but it contains personally identifying information so hopefully this can be solved without that.

Without knowing anything about your system, I'll just share my experience with audio sync issues. I thought it was OBS too and spent a good month diagnosing issues. It was my Realtek audio driver. I had to go to Realtek's website to manually download/install the driver.

I also record to a separate SSD (not hard drive). HDD (hard drives) in Windows have a sleep option when not in use they will spin down. It make take 8 to 15 seconds for that drive to spin back up once you hit record. I'm not a computer expert, but I would think while you're recording at go, until the 15 seconds for that drive to get up to speed, that data is being stored then wrote at whatever speed the HDD can write data.

I recorded and published to YouTube today without any audio delay with 21.1.0
