Audio cuts out, returns delayed

I'm either streaming game video to YouTube or recording it to my hard drive. Video and audio start synced up. After around an hour, say 50-80 minutes, the game audio will cut out for 3 seconds and then come back 3 seconds delayed. I am not 100% sure, but I do not believe mic audio is delayed. I don't ever observe cpu usage spike above 2%. Watching the audio levels indicators at the end of a stream I see that the level indicators are synced up with the game video, so I believe OBS is receiving the signals synced up (not an input issue?), but I only noticed this in October after a bunch of windows updates "cumulative updates". I have seen plenty of people experiencing audio sync issues, but no one experiencing this cut-out and return delayed issue so I am hoping an expert here will have a solution.

The issue does not occur on the same hardware dual booted into Linux with as close to the same configuration as I can manage, but I prefer to use windows for other workflow reasons.

You can see an example of the issue on the YouTube video here at the 59:17 mark.

I will attach the OBS logs for that stream here as well.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Game DVR should be disabled & there's some sample-rate mismatches that may be contributing to the de-sync. Filters can cause weirdness too. The rest of the log looks OK.

I have disabled Game DVR and set the sample rates to match. That produced no improvement.

After a bit of debugging I've found that the issue is related to the audio source being the automatically added one from the video source. Adding a second audio source in Global Audio Devices settings for the video source audio and using that one as the stream audio fixes the problem. This means that I have to mute the auto added source as it seems to be impossible to remove it completely.

This is an annoying workaround so if I find someplace to report this bug I will.

I have the same issue out of nowhere!
My game audio is out of sync for 2-3 seconds and this happens out of nowhere in the middle of the livestream.

I am so glad I found your post. I will try to do what you did here and I hope this issue won't happen anymore!
