Question / Help Audio and video stutters while streaming, but very few dropped frames showing in OBS

New streamer. We've been streaming live music for a couple of months now. Trying hard to get a quality stream but having some problems. I can see the video stutter or lag in OBS while streaming to twitch. When I play back the VOD I can see the stutters and also hear an audible click during some of the larger stutters. OBS occasionally (rarely) notifies of dropped frames, but I see the stutters even without notifications.

Here is the log file from last nights stream: https://obsproject.com/logs/r5SMomML1qopAbxC

Here is the link to the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/613324587
You can see several stutters during the first song 00:05:30 - 00:10:00, but honestly you can probably spot check anywhere in the 2 hour stream and find a stutter within a minute or so.

Thanks...

All your frame loss is being recorded as rendering lag. You're already running in administrator mode with the latest windows version, so the workaround is being applied for GPU prioritization -- you're just getting actual rendering lag with your scene compositions.

You can try disabling hardware acceleration for your browser sources. This would at least split some of the load, but I don't know what sort of knock-on effect that would have on the rest of your system resources.

Thank you for taking a look at my problem. I might have solved it, tell me what you think. As I was troubleshooting this, it kept bothering me that I would see the stutters in OBS while I wasn't even streaming. It made me think there was something wrong during the capture of my video signal before OBS processed it, or at least very early in the signal path. I'm using a Sony a6600 camera and Avermedia extreme cap box. UVC Bu110.
I went back and double checked to make sure that frame rates matched and that firmware was updated etc. Everything seemed correct.

In my OBS device source properties for my camera, I changed the buffer setting from auto detect to enabled. This really seemed to smooth out all of the micro stutters I was seeing in my preview window. Stream seemed very smooth and when I reviewed the VOD I didn't see any stutters or audio clicks.

Here is a link to the VOD for that stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/615309860

Hopefully this solved my issue. Thanks.
