Question / Help Assistance with best settings for my specs

So i don't play the actual games on my laptop. I play on my Ps4 or xbox and use an elgato HD 60 capture card to record. Or rather I plug it into my laptop to record. Now without adding a webcam the recordings come out fine. When I overlay my webcam i start getting hiccups (vid freezes then picks up, webcam is ahead of the game footage by about half or a full second, quality degrades throughout)

My specs are:

i7 2760 QM
Nvidia Quadro 1000m
8gb ram

Im using a logitech c

Does anyone know what the best settings are for a local recording? I don't plan on streaming, just recording to my HD then uploading to youtube.

Since you have a Quadro 1000m I would recommend you encode using x264.
For best quality you will want to set the rate control to CRF
CRF value is the quality: 0 is lossless, though I would recommend somewhere around 12 looks almost indistinguishable at a much smaller file size. Also you can even set it much higher for slightly lower quality but also a much smaller file size
For more information on crf check out this guide I found

Make sure to set your CPU preset to Ultrafast or you will get laggy recordings.

If you have any more questions I'll be happy to help
