ASIO Input Capture loses audio after audio interface restart - Need to restart OBS

Hello everyone,

I'm encountering an issue with the ASIO Input Capture plugin.

The problem: I'm using an external audio interface (Livetrack L8) connected via ASIO with the plugin. Everything works perfectly fine until I restart my audio interface. After the interface restarts, the audio from the ASIO Input Capture source in OBS goes completely silent.

What I've tried (and what doesn't work permanently):

  • Deactivating and reactivating the ASIO Input Capture source in the OBS Audio Mixer.
  • Opening and closing the properties of the ASIO Input Capture source (without making changes).
  • Changing the ASIO device/channels within the source properties and then changing them back.
  • Checking my audio interface's ASIO control panel: The interface is recognized and functioning correctly by the system after restart.
Current workaround: The only way to get the audio working again is to completely restart OBS Studio. This is disruptive for my workflow, since i do live Podcast streaming.

What I'm looking for: Is there a way to force the ASIO Input Capture plugin to re-initialize or refresh its connection to the audio interface without having to restart OBS? Or are there any known workarounds or settings I should check to prevent this issue?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

this would be something to address with the plugin developers through their GitHub page but you do have me curious what the reason for restarting the interface is to begin with, normally you wouldn't be doing that.

It only works again when restart it.. For a live broadcast it's a huge problem

yes what I am saying is this:

"Everything works perfectly fine until I restart my audio interface"

you'd probably want to work on fixing your audio interface and not the ASIO plugin.

Negative. The interface itself still works using defaut audio source when this issue occurs. The problem is actually with the ASIO plugin, which splits the channels from my mixer one by one. These isolated channels (from the ASIO plugin) are the ones that stop working.
