it does start & runs ...however, adding a 'display capture' source causes an 'endless mirror' effect,
with ever smaller windows showing on the obs screen to infinity ... anyone seeing this ?

is it possible to 'fix' obs to record one single chrome tab ?

adding 'existing browser' with chrome opened does not list anything ...

peace

If you're using Display Capture, and OBS is part of the display and the preview is enabled, then it's going to capture it and do a feedback loop.
You can minimize OBS and start/stop recording using a keyboard shortcut.
Display Capture is a last resort and should only be used if you need to capture Windows or stuff that won't work with Window or Game capture. Build your scene with Window/Game/Video Device Capture etc.

You can use Chrome App mode to have single window. Duplicate Chrome shortcut and --app=https://www.obsproject.com/ to Target in shortcut properties. Change URL as needed.

As long as you have legal copy of Windows 7 you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free. See

thx qhobbes, upgraded win 7 to 10 when it came out 5+ yrs ago and lost two drives doing it ...utter disaster ...
back on win 7 now ...
all i want to do is to record a live session on a 'google meet' tab on chrome ...
using 'window' or 'tab' options 'new' or 'existing,' but neither selects the existing/running chrome tab ...
shortcuts has no mention of starting a recording https://obsproject.com/wiki/Keyboard-Shortcuts
what is missing ?
