Anyone have some detailed information about the bilinear, bicubic, lanczos filters?

Is there a noticeable difference?
What filter best suits what 'genre' of games? bilinear for FPS? lanczos for slower games? Or the opposite?
How much cpu power does each one use?

Currently only streaming WoW, with 1280x720, 30fps, 3500k/bit, lanczos

I was wondering if switching to 1152x648, 48fps, 3500k/bit would be better, if so, what filter? Stick to lanczos, or are the others better suited?

Any info/advice would be great!

If you're doing your output scaling in settings - video, they don't use CPU.

It would not, because you gain no major visible difference between 30 and 48fps.
