Another Rookie Question about using a green screen background

I'm starting to get pretty proficient with OBS I've just recorded and posted my 13th video. I would like to be able to add a green screen background for when I start streaming videos or just when I'm recording so I don't have to pickup things in the background. A friend said there was a way you can layer the scene and I tried putting a back ground in below the camera and I tried it above the camera but I still don't see the background. I must be missing a step, When I put the image above the camera all I see is the image, when I put it below the camera, I just see the camera. I must be missing a setting or a step.

Thanks in advance.

1. Add your Camera to the scene.
2. Add your background Image source to the scene, below the camera on the Sources list.
3. Right-click the Camera source in the Sources list, go to Filters.
4. Add a Chromakey filter.
5. Tweak the settings on the Chromakey filter until your greenscreen is transparent (switches from green to gray in the preview). You may need to correct your lighting or greenscreen backdrop to evenly-light the greenscreen.

Done!

To be clear, you will NEED a physical solid green backdrop behind you, on camera. Usually a green sheet of fabric hung from some kind of framework, and it MUST be evenly-lit (from a camera perspective, which sees light and shadow MUCH more sharply than the human eye) to get good results.

Here's a great YouTube video on how to set up your screen and light it properly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH8TWTt51W8

Yes, a physical green screen is very important. You should take care that the screen doesn't have any stains or crinkles because that's affects the effect of the green screen !
