Question / Help Anomaly with audio on Win10

Hey all. I've been noticing something recently in my recordings. The audio is being recorded at a low volume, and sounds like it has some kind of filter applied to it. I have been using Windows 7 until recently, and I have never had that issue there. I can link a couple of videos to demonstrate the issue.

Do note: You will probably need headphones to properly hear the differences. I also used the exact same settings on both, but the results are as you hear.

Win10 recording. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udcTxqqQ72A

Is there some setting in Win10 itself doing this? I know Win10 can be a pain, so I won't be surprised if it's the OS causing this.

Edit: Changed the example videos to demonstrate that I'm more concerned with the filtering effect more than the difference in volume. Sorry about that.

Okay, I have figured out the issue, but have no idea how to resolve it. I use Equalizer APO, because I have one of those headsets with really overly loud bass that needed to be corrected. The problem is, OBS picks up the filtered audio. Why? I did the same exact thing in Win7, but OBS recorded the audio there normally, even when Equalizer APO was being used.
What can I do to keep using Equalizer APO, but not have OBS pick up the audio being filtered, like I was able to before on Win7?
