Question / Help An OBS noob needs help lol

hi everyone I'm a noob trying to start live streaming with OBS but I have no idea how to get going properly

I have learnt how to hook my xbox up through to OBS via the legato game capture card BUT it is always 2 seconds behind what I'm actually doing on xbox(not sure why)

and I get black screen whenever I try to window or game capture the xbox app on my windows 10 pc

can anyone give suggestions on settings or anything I'm doing wrong?

no man, unfortunately it takes your elgato about 2 seconds to receive that data from your xbox through HDMI > render/encode it > send it out through USB so your computer can read the data.

Think of it as a webcam with a lot more work to do than just pick up your image and relay it to your PC.
