Amplified Sound

I am seeking assistance to improve the audio quality for our streaming setup. Here’s a detailed description of our current audio configuration and the challenges we are facing:

  1. Audio Configuration:
    • We use a sound mixer to manage our audio inputs. The sound mixer has separate channels for different audio sources:
      • Microphones: These are connected to individual channels on the mixer.
      • Laptop: This is also connected to a separate channel on the mixer and is used to play music and display lyrics.
  2. Audio Routing:
    • We have a floor monitor with a line-out jack. We connect this monitor to our computer using a cable that plugs into the computer's line-in jack. This setup allows the audio to be captured by OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), which is used for streaming.
  3. Issue:
    • While the audio quality from the speaker and in-house music sounds good, the sound captured by OBS is poor. The amplified audio does not translate well to the stream, resulting in subpar audio quality.
For further context, I’ve attached a link to a recording of our service where you can hear the issue firsthand.

I understand that amplification might be contributing to the issue, but I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to improve the audio quality for our stream. Specific areas of concern include:
