Question / Help AMD VCE Recording Overload

I have been trying to record my gameplay with AMD VCE. It works fine, until recently at least. I have no idea what happened, but when I tried to hit the record button 2-3 seconds later, OBS studio gives me a warning that it's overloading, so it will skip frames. The problem is I was doing fine with the settings, and none of my PC components are maxed out at anything. CPU usage 11% lol, GPU usages 50% or so, VRAM usage 500MB/1GB. This happens even when I just try to record display. I honestly have no ideal.

Hi,

just checking a quick look the following seems high in the log see below,

MF_MT_AVG_BITRATE: 12000000

Can you post your current recording settings via screenshot?

also in the log is

Number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 3751 (129.8%)

the VCE unit is seperate of the GPU % so this could still be overloaded. If it was working before have you updated your drivers?

I updated the driver regularly, twice, and it still has problem.

settings seem fine the 12000 shouldn't cause the problem. Some options to try add a custom buffer, you could also try cpu x264 encoding if the VCE isn't working.

or roll back to the driver that was working if the problem started after a driver update.

Well, I uninstalled OBS and reinstalled it again. It worked. Still, thanks for the help.
