AMD R9 Fury X Performance and Preferences

Hi everyone. I have been a longtime user of OBS. I have noticed that the support for the Fury X GPU has gotten worse with AMD driver and Windows updates.

Will there be any upcoming developments that will enhance the recording and streaming capabilities for Fury cards? I would like to stream VR, but OBS causes significant performance drops, no matter which version I am using. OBS Studio is the worst out of all the versions (OBS, OBS Studio, and OBS w/ VCE).

I have read any information that i can find pertaining to Fury cards and OBS. If there is some guide that i am missing, please let me know. I have spent almost a year trying to get OBS to run properly. At this point, i am convinced it's not a problem with the GPU or CPU. It is 100% the software.

One improvement i noticed that has not been fully implemented is the ability to use the OpenGL settings in OBS studio. I hope this will be implemented in the binaries as soon as possible. I would like to test the differences between using OpenGL and DX11, but OBS studio crashes under normal conditions when starting up with OpenGL.

If anyone has any information or suggestions, I am all ears. If not, I am convinced that this software does not run properly with Fury based (Fiji) AMD graphics cards. This is unfortunate given that the Fury is AMD's most powerful card and flagship model. I understand that this is opensource and actively being developed, but there hasn't been too much news regarding the Fury X and OBS. Should I just install X-Split in the meanwhile?

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Catalyst 16.4.1 [If I switch back down to 15.7 (incompatible with a lot of games and VR) I still get horrendous FPS drops]
AMD 8370
AMD Fury X
32 GB DRR3 1600
512GB SSD

Studio doesnt crash unless I try to switch it to OpenGL. This bug has already been fixed in the most recent updates on GitHub, but not implemented in 0.13.4. Currently i cannot replicate the OpenGL Crash. The only thing that is different from the original post is that I installed a second Fury X. Currently, OpenGl settings seem to work, but have do discernable impact.

I can use DX11 as normal, but I get significant FPS drop when i am streaming. This does not happen unless streaming encoding is active. The same FPS drops occur when a second GPU is added.

Hey, I also have a FuryX and have been experiencing similar issues, I don't use VCE though, just my CPU. Have you found a way to fix this?
