Hi all
I have an AMD 7950X3D cpu , 64 gig ram and a 4090 gpu.
I do a lot of recording of my Quest 3 ( PCVR ) footage via OBS ...which i would record at 2560 x 1440 ( base canvus 4k ) ...but have been trying to record at 4K
When using the Nvidia HW NVENC encoder and try and record at 4K it seems to drop the frame rate ( as if the gpu is struggling ), soon as turn off recording , frame rate is fine again ( in headset )
The recorded footage seems to be ok....just not pleasant in headset.
Now i have tried different settings , encoders etc ...but one that seems to be pretty good was using AMD HW H265 encoder.( smooth in headset when recording )
Now is this ok to use ...or any advise on using it lol
Also do i need the AMD Adrenalin software install as i only have the igpu driver installed.
When i play flat screen games on my PC ...OBS records and plays fine at 4K using NVIDIA HW NVENC...just issue when playing VR.
Any help most appreciated
Karl
