AMD Hardware Encoder Overloads After Update

After updating to 28.0.1 besides MANY of the plugins requiring reinstallation now my AMD hardware encoder overloads after 7 minutes where it never did before. None of the streaming settings were changed. Reinstalled all display drivers. No difference. I can only stream using Software (x264) encoding now.

It's a new encoder. Please provide a log file of this session with the overload an a previous session when it worked fine.
You can access the log files folder from within Help menu.

Here are the logs that start from after the update. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the software as well.

If I'm not mistaken, you are using the Multi RTMP plugin and trying to hang all streams through the AMD encoder. If so, then this is a very bad idea. You are using a low performance AMF VCE 3.0 encoder on the RX 580. With the release of OBS 28.0, AMD HW H.264 has become even worse in terms of performance. You should reduce the output video resolution, which will reduce the load on the encoder. Use AMD HW H.265 to stream to YouTube. Update all plugins. The load on the encoder can be found in the task manager.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately none of this has worked. I get the same issues no matter what video bit rate I use. Even when only recording and not streaming. Runs fine for 5-7 minutes then overloads. No other HW encoder option available, only the H264. Only way I’ve been able to stream is with software encoding. Prior to this update I never had any problems with performance using my current settings

The only thing I can think of is StreamFX. I read that this plugin isn't completely updated yet.
Create a new scene collection and copy your actual scenes in there but do not copy (or remove) the straem fx filters. Test it.

You can also reinstall 27.2.4 if that works better for you.

The R5 3600 seems to be holding its own and I have al my scenes and plugins restored for the time being. I'll wait and see if they come up with a hotfix for the H264 encoder. I'm using an AIO so the temps are staying under control.
