Question / Help AMD CQP v17

I downloaded the newest version of OBS-Studio for Windows and I ran into an issue with OBS VCE recording when using a CQP of 4 it has issues with playback. I use it for HQ recordings of videos I edit up. I even tried just replacing it with what was AMD-Encoder-for-OBS-Studio.1.4.3.4. Is there a solution to fix this? Or should I go to the previous version of OBS-Studio? I am also on the latest AMD drivers.

Your log shows you switching GPUs for the last one. Please make sure to always use the same GPU for reporting issues with encoders.

Alright I will do another recording using my primary. Sorry, I thought I grabbed the right one. I will redo it 1 more time, then upload the new log.

Alright here is the file... But I got back home after doing some things and it seems to be working without issue now... Before I started recording again I reset all the settings with the lossless preset, then customized up the basic CQP back to where it was before... I included the log, but it will probably be pointless now :P

Yeah it looks normal now. You could try doing one with your secondary GPU and see if it still happens.

I can only record using my secondary R9 380 using Display capture for some reason. It is odd. I know before ReLive I didn't have any issues. I could also use Quicksync, but the problem with that seems to be I need to reencode real quick with handbrake quicksync in order to edit it. For some reason OBS with Quicksync least on my 3770k doesn't have a proper baseline encode. If I edit the direct file in something like Davinci Resolve it has problems. Though I did find out I can both stream and local record on my R9 390 at the same time. Doesn't seem to be causing any real performance impact. So With that working there isn't any real issues now. Thanks for looking it over Xaymar.

Can you try with 0.16.6 and plugin version 1.4.3.4? I wonder if it's caused by a driver issue or just something that I've submitted to OBS studio for better multi-GPU support.

I already did it with that version of OBS, That is why I upgraded to version 17, I thought it said it has better multi-GPU support in the patch notes, unless I read it wrong.

Yeah, the new code should work better than the old hack. No idea why that happens for you though, i've never seen that happen on 16.11.2 and before.

The one before the ReLive launch worked without issue. Now if I try and capture with my 2nd AMD card with game capture it crashes the game, and OBS. But of course Quicksync doesn't have a problem lol. But also as I stated it seems I can do both at separate bitrates with streaming, and HQ recording at the same time as well without any seeming FPS drop :P I am just happy it works still, so I don't have to reconvert for any editing I want to do lol. If I had to use Quicksync I would, and it would be a pain!

Can you do one with OBS command line being -verbose -log_unfiltered and debug checked on your second GPU? If it is a driver bug, it'd be great to have fixed.

Sorry for the off-topic:

I see you are using new OBS Caption Tool.
I´m not able to find out how to use it. Maybe the problem is my language, Spanish, and Microsoft Voice Recognition engine.
When I enable Caption Tools and select my mic, I can´t see any text appearing on preview.

Any clue?
Thank you.

(By the way, I think the log should not register generated captions. These could be considered sensitive content)

Captions are shown in a supported stream player (Twitch, YouTube).

I haven't actually used that. I will have to look more into it though :)
