AMD AV1 HW Encoder No Longer Recording

hello.

i am stupid and scared and need help please.

i do not think i made any changes to my pc or software.
i was able to record via OBS (and AMD's Adrenaline Software) a few days ago, and now i cannot use either software to record using the AMD AV1 HW enconder.
all other encoders work.

now when i try to record i receive the following error message:

"Failed to start recording
Starting the output failed. Please Check the log for details.

Note: If you are using the NVENC of AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date."

AMD's software does not give an error message, but also cannot start recording with the AV1 HW encoder. other encoders record fine.

GPU: AMD Radeon 7900 XTX with the following driver version:
24.10.29.01-240714a-406033C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition

AMD Windows Driver Version:
32.0.11029.1008

Using current version of OBS, updated to try and solve the issue, issue persists.

You have set in your system the iGPU as primary and the GPU secondary.
Go to the BIOS and fix it.

whoa it's you. ive solved a lot of issues reading your replies on this forum. thank you.

i mentioned earlier that i am stupid. pebcak.

i realized i did make a change between it working and not working: i recently unplugged the single monitor that was hooked up to the actual GPU to a second, separate pc so my girl and i could play deadlock together.

so i had no monitor connected from any monitor to the gpu.

i booted into bios and then got scared and could find where the gpu options were so i unplugged all displays from the connection that isnt the GPU and left only the GPU connection and my PC auto un-fucked.
