Am I doing this wrong? Obtaining simultaneous full resolution screenshot from multiple cameras?

Hi,

I have three camera sources connected to OBS and all shown at the same time. When I take a screenshot at the display panel, the screenshot combines all three video feeds into the big video feed. My current resolution 1080p, but the video sources appear smaller than 1080p as they are all cropped to fit the preview panel. All three sources are there, but smaller view.

However, when I right-click individual cameras and select "screenshot (source)", I get the original output a 1080p from the camera. When I highlight all cameras in the sources window, right click and "screenshot (source), I only get one full screenshot from whichever camera my mouse happens to right click at that particular moment.

Is it possible for me to get all full resolution screenshots at once rather than having to right click at each camera source every time?

You could set your base canvas to 3840x2160, and arrange the three cameras in each corner. You would have a blank quarter, and all three would be part of the same image file. You could then break the larger image up into individual 1080p images in some external software.

OBS isn't meant to be a snapshotting tool though. It's primarily livestream production software, even if some people are using it for everything under the sun at this point.

Thanks. That works. Just wondering if I can scale up the canvas size bigger? If I add 10 cameras and all are 1080p, is it possible to get good screenshots of all images?

Unfortunately, I am trying to use the tool as a snapshot tool for lots of cameras:) Going up higher than 10 cameras.

There are resolution limitations to streaming/recording due to x264 limits, but I am not certain if the canvas size itself is limited. You can always try expanding it and find out.

I have tried 6 phones and 1 webcam at the same time. OBS can stream directly from that. The resolution is a problem though. With capturing all screens, the amount of resolution will be less since there are a lot of sources. If I go one by one, I get all full resolution. Maybe there is a script somewhere which can automate this? In Photoshop there is batch processing where it plays back whatever commands you record in it.

This is useful in scenery/cctv scenes where you want the camera to cycle and capture shots as well.
