O.K. so here's the situation, my parents went away on a weeks vacation and they left the keys to the brand-new porsch....
oh, wait...wrong song ;)
so here's MY situation (instead of the Fresh Prince's):
it seems audio is the hardest thing in this whole streaming adventure...all the problems we run into are always with the audio...and we've been battling long enough on our own. We run:
~PC: Dell XPS 8900
~OS: Windows 10
~Processor: i7-6700 @604Ghz
~RAM: 16.0GB
~Type: 64 bit
~Audio: RealTek HD
~Xbox One
~OBS Studio
~Elgato HD60 w/chat link cable
After March Microsoft update, with party chats ability to become integrated into this whole craziness, we bought a new X1 controller, with a 3.5mm input. From what I understand in Elgato's video ("Is chat link necessary"), when the X1 settings tell the party chat to go to the headphones, AND the mic monitor is all the way up, AND the chat link cable is in use, all party chat members, including the streamer, should be sent to the HD60, then to the PC, then to OBS....and eventually to stream. We finally have all the party chat members in the stream, as well as game audio and music (from spotify on PC), but the voice of the streamer (whether its myself, my husband or our son) does NOT show up in the stream. Am I missing a setting in OBS, using an incorrect pole on a 3.5mm, or just blind to something else? Here is the log for the current session, where we have discovered the problem.
Any and all constructive advice, help and input is much appreciated!
Many Thanks!
