Question / Help Aiding an Unqualified Computer - Streaming

Hello.

As the title explains, I am attempting to stream with a computer almost entirely unfit for such a task. Please don't ask why, because I just want advice. Work with me here..please?
I've downloaded OBS and WavTap, and when I attempt to stream to YouTube I get the following:

Please check the video resolution. The current resolution is (0x0), which is not optimal.

The stream's current bitrate (0) is higher than the recommended bitrate. We recommend that you use a stream bitrate of 1000 Kbps.

I want to know how to achieve or find these settings. I understand some lag within streaming capacity, but I can't tolerate the fact that the stream is being hurt by these settings that I can't seem to find.

Mac Information

OS X Yosemite v. 10.10.5
13-inch MacBook Air, Early 2014
Processor- 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory- 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics- Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

Two updates are available since your post. OSX 10.11, and OBS 0.12. Start there first!

Secondly, now that you are up-to-date, settings for videos are in Settings -> Output and Settings -> Video.

Ensure there are actually numbers in the fields. :)
