Log Report: https://gist.github.com/845894294c3e64d9227b837d59a676b4

I recently updated to OSX 10.11.6 and now suddenly all of my videos (local recording) look really messed up. While I am doing the recording, my preview is fine, nothing looks odd or different, but all my actual recordings look like this:

It does not seem to matter what I am recording or how I am recording it. I have recorded just my desktop doing nothing as well as photoshop (I also tested with a game, but I am not trying to record games, I am trying to record my desktop/photoshop). I have tried recording my window, recording my screen, I have tried using syphon, I have messed with my settings and tried every "black screen" tutorial google or youtube would give me.

I have also tried installing previous versions of OBS as well as repeatedly re-installing the newest version, changing every single settling, exporting with different file types, resetting my preferences, dumping the library files, clean installs, I have even tried a pram reset. Nothing I can think of seems to be working, I can only seem to jump around between black screen and crazy rainbow screen.

I have also recorded with quicktime and gameshow, which are both working fine and giving me no issues with weird recordings. I am only having this problem with OBS.

Have you checked the recordings with VLC?

Also, why exactly are you saving directly to mp4?

Yes I have checked recordings with VLC:

I am exporting to MP4 because my editing software and that of my partner's on windows both like working with MP4s. This issue happens regardless of what I export as and I have exported using every file type option OBS offers.

Everything results in a variation of black screen, green screen, pink screen or rainbow (green and pink) screen.

Thank you for trying to help though!

Hmm. Green is the Y pair both being zero. Pink???

And the OBS preview window shows the proper data?

And you are *not* using apple hardware encoding?

Yes, the preview shows everything is fine at all times, it looks just like it used to. No, I am not using the apple encoder.

Should I just give up on OBS? Is it just not going to work for me? I'm not sure what to do with a product that does not offer any kind of official support : /

OK, looking over your log file, I see things like this:
04:26:37.124: obs_video_thread(33.3333 ms): min=73.489 ms, median=114.522 ms, max=266.549 ms, 99th percentile=233.338 ms, 0% below 33.333 ms

You have 77-85% dropped frames; none of your frames are being drawn fast enough.

So:
1. You can't do 30 FPS with what you are trying to do. Try 10 FPS. See if it works better.
2. Are you saying that it worked in 10.10, and failed in 10.11? ... That's a really good reason to not upgrade, thank you.

I"m having this same problem

I gave up. I'm working with the free version of Gameshow now and it's working fine. On top of working at all, it is performing better for me than OBS was when OBS actually was working for me (needing fewer resources, less lag, higher FPS without issue).
