After a lot of reading, testing and reviewing recorded footage, i can sucessfully record native 1440p gameplay scaled down to 1080p (and 3 seperate audio streams) with OBS at 60fps and drop less than 0.5% of the frames. Sadly 1440p recording pushes dropped frames into the 10-30% region depending on settings.
I really would prefer to produce content on YT at 1440p 60fps using OBS (due to the excellent way it handles multiple audio streams). Im toying with the idea of building a small and relatively cheap 2nd pc to handle encoding (and streaming). My main aim is goid quality recording. Streaming is a secondary concern right now.
Do people here have reccomendations for:
- A capture card for 2nd pc capable of 1440p 60fps.
- power level of cpu required to encode the recording (given it wont need to handle the game itself)
- Ram ammount?
- do i need a gfx card or could i just use the cpu gfx given encoding is cpu based?
Thanks for any replies
