Advice on camera and NVR setup?

Hi all

I hope someone will be able to give me some recommendations on how to create a setup for my scenario. I am filming a dancer from several angles in a limited space. Ideally I would like to film with four cameras positioned at 0/90/180/270 degrees. The movements of the dancer are very fast, and I want to avoid lagging or dropping frames. I would like full HD with good colour and high performance in low light. I need a fixed focal length.

At the moment I’m using a MacBook, an iPad and an iPhone - I use the OBS cam app to get video from the mobile devices into OBS. I’m recording only, not live streaming. This setup works, but I’d like to improve it as it’s not perfect for my requirements. It’s hard to set up quickly, iOS devices are not weatherproof and my laptop CPU struggles.

1. The physical area is limited and I have only enough space to get the full body in shot from one angle (about 3m distance) The other directions are tighter, so that the camera can only be placed about 2m from the subject. So I need to know what is the best lens for short distances from the camera. Should I be looking at 2.8mm / 4mm?

2. I’m comparing recording and camera bundles and it seems like a NVR / PoE ethernet setup would be best. Can anybody comment on HIKVISION vs TP-LINK VIGI? These seem the most supported in my country (South Africa). They are similar prices (approx $450). Any other brand/bundle suggestions also welcome.

3. I need to be sure that the system is Mac compatible.

I look forward to hearing any suggestions!
Thanks.
