Adding remote video streams

Hi experts,

I'm looking into running live events, where I include not only my own web-cam, but also cameras for other people in the stream. This could be a webcam or a mobile device.

How can I get a video stream from a remote device into OBS?
And will this work, or will it get too much lag?

Most commonly people will use VoIP software like Skype, Google Hangouts, or Discord.
Skype offers a "Skype for Creators" variant which offers NDI outputs for each participant, and can be captured/included in OBS by installing the obs-ndi plugin and appropriate Newtek NDI redistributable.
For Hangouts or Discord, most just capture the window, add it to the scene several times, then alt-crop each down to only show a single participant, for easy arrangement.

It's not an easy problem to fix on a larger scale though.

Thanks for your reply.

Sounds like Skype for creators could be an option. Thx :-)
I'll give it a try. I only need a couple of streams.
