Adding delay streaming does it help to reduce lag?

Hi,
at home I have a poor connection (sometime the Ethernet connection is lost and come back after 1-2 minute). When the connection is lost, my live streaming is cut. I would like to know if I add some delay on my streaming will this avoid to lose streaming (delay of 3 minute, to be able to reconnect to Ethernet)
