I have a system setup for live streaming motorsports events from my car. Its a little mad sciency, and although I've been able to get pretty good results I am disappointed with the video quality from the forward facing camera.
My goal is to find a camera I can use with OBS via USB that works well outdoors, handles lots of motion and distance focus well for this kind of application.
So far I've been using two Logitech C922 webcams because they were on hand, easy to setup and work well with OBS. The one for the in car view is fine, but the forward facing camera is really not ideal. As a webcam it wants to focus on close objects, does not handle high motion scenes or drastic changes in lighting very well.
What I've found so far searching around seems like HDMI/Capture-card or WiFi are the main ways to get GoPro style action cameras or camcorders into OBS. And that LiveView USB seems to be limited to desktop webcams. Is that really the case? I've found some posts that mention there are some GoPro style knockoffs that do support USB video but have not been able to nail down any specific cameras.
Do people have suggestions or insight?
