A whole bunch of feature requests...

Loving a lot of new things in OBS Studio... but there are still a few things missing if you ask me...

Firstly, my biggest complaint about OBS is still in OBS Studio... the "Scenes" list. If you're like me, and have 15 scenes in your list, having to scroll down this huge list to click on scenes is a major pain in the ass. As a web-designer myself, I can think of many ways to fix this issue, and I'm amazed its still exactly as it was in the original OBS.

If I was designing the list, I would do it differently. Currently there is a TON of extra space at the bottom third of the screen, I would fill this space with a box for the scenes. Adding scenes would add "buttons to the box (probably in rows of 4), and the box would have a fluid width depending on the length of your screen. If the number of buttons exceeds the length of the screen, just add a horizontal scroll bar (instead of a vertical scroll bar). This is one thing Xsplit has a major advantage over OBS.

There also needs to be an individual "Reload" right-click context option for sources. Currently, if I want to reload a source, I have to right click and select "properties" (or double-click), and then click CANCEL on the next screen (clicking OK will not refresh the source, only cancel). This process seems to take too many steps; I should just be able to right click and select a "Reload" option. There are lots of cases where you would need to reload a source, updated images, stuttering video, etc...

Something else I would like to have is a "Reload All Sources" button. Sometimes you just gotta reload all your sources (perhaps I just updated 12 images at once?), a single button to do it would be fantastic.

Also, in the source properties screen, there is an option for "Audio Output Mode". There doesn't seem to be an option to DISABLE the audio output of a capture device. I don't use the audio outputs from my capture devices, so I would like to disable them and thus remove the device from the "mixer" list.

Another thing, the VU meters in the mixer only seem to display in mono. It would be nice to have bars for both the left and right audio channels.

Finally, I feel like there are a lot of features missing from OBS Studio that was in the original OBS:
  • Non-global sources. Currently, it seems that all sources are global. While this is nice, it is sometimes problematic. I use a lot of situational sources, and they don't need to always be running in the background, consuming memory. Streaming is already a memory intensive process and we need to value every little performance hit.
  • Set cropping on a scene level, instead of a source level. If I have a source, I may not necessarily want to crop it at the source level. What if I want to crop the camera only for a specific scene, but not all scenes? The current filter system doesn't seem to allow this.
  • What happened to the 1:1 preview window option? I have a 1080p screen, but I only broadcast at 720p, I don't need the preview window any bigger than 1280x720, so it would be nice to have a 1:1 option so I can see how the stream will actually look on the output, without any sort of resizing artifacts.Versu
  • Scene transitions? What happened to them?
  • Locking a scene? In the original OBS, you needed to push the "Edit Scene" button before the program would let you edit anything on the screen. I liked this, as it was essentially a "lock" button, so that you don't accidentally change things. This seems to be gone now.

Most of your points don't seem high priority atm, but i'm no dev.
Also I believe 0.13.0 will contain a way for the image source to detect if the file has changed and reload, so that would solve the reload issue you have when it comes to images.
Scene transitions are also being worked on

And you can crop a scene, just right-click it and go to Filters and apply a crop filter.

You can not crop a source at the scene level in obs-mp. Adding a crop filter to a source, applies that crop filter to the source in EVERY scene, not just the single scene you want it in.

Any ideas on when Scene-level cropping, and unloading sources when not in use is coming?

I love OBS-MP; but I can't use it in any live environment without those two specific things.

Per-scene filters are coming, fear not. Also most sources automatically unload themselves when they're not showing somewhere.

The one that doesn't (that really needs to) is the media source, I wanted to add a few options for activation/deactivation conditions, but haven't had time yet.

Right now Browser sources don't unload when not in use. I know it a plugin... but still.
