Hi Everyone

Just starting to use OBS for youtube channel etc and I was hoping someone could help me.
I have a Samsung S20+ and wish to use that as my main camera as the video source.
Everywhere I look, I just see using it as a webcam via obs ninja but I would like to use it as my main camera.

Any way of achieving this? I was thinking of a USB-C to HDMI converter (from phone) then a hDMI cable from that in to a HDMI - USB video capture device.

Thanks to anyone that can help
Darren

Can I assume, from the lack of replies, after so many views, that this isn't possible???
Is my only option, for recording video AND showing other videos, is to record myself with the phone then add the other content later in post edit?

Using the smartphone camera as webcam is a frequent topic. Usually, you install some app on your smartphone that serves as ip camera server, then include this ip camera as media source in OBS. Creating and grabbing some hdmi signal in connection with a smartphone is uncommon.
There are many apps, I use some called "IP Webcam". There are many others.

However, this is not the best webcam substitute. It's a solution if you want to walk around and need a wireless camera, but not a static webcam replacement.

I have used NDI with a Samsung Cellphone on WiFi. There is a cellphone app and a plugin for OBS, 4.9.2 I think. Can't comment on whether it's the best use for a cellphone though.

Great stuff. Thanks for the replies. Really appreciate it. I will give the IP stuff a go but it's looking like filming the whole thing with the mobile then adding stuff post edit maybe. Looks like I may have to rethink this . Thanks again
