Jim, im calling for you.
I am using the mutli-platform's most recent version for windows, but i believe the problem doesn't lie with that. I know you have no reason to respond to this, but with how limited resources for these kind of issues can be, i believe you are my only hope. I have an Avermedia LGP, (C875). I am trying to import component 480i video, use the Streaming Engine to deinterlace it, and then push it to obs for some nice, crisp melee/project m footage for my local tournaments. I saw in october of 2014 you posted that you were hoping to buy a LGP to test with, and i was hoping that since then you have had a chance to use one and might have some suggestions.

Firstly, what does work. The LGP Streaming engine detects the video, shows me that it is 720x240 at 60fps, as interlaced video should be. When open up Avermedia's native Recentral, i can display the video. As well, in OBS i can open the video under "Avermedia C875 Capture" and display it there. (multiplatform, not successfully on the 32bit version). I can not in anyway get Amarectv to view or display the LGP Streaming Engine output (it crashes), and i can not get any obs version to view the LGP Streaming Engine output. My hope is that you have some knowledge of how to fix the problem of Streaming engine to OBS, that might help me in my other issue.

As well i've read that you are hoping to have deinterlacing as standard in the 0.12.0 multiplatform version. How is that coming along? That alone may solve my issue, as that would allow me to bypass the streaming engine, and Amarectv altogether.

Either way i have problems, and i don't know anyone better than you that might have some inkling of knowledge to help me.

I need you, Jim.
Thanks.

EDIT:
I have now tested it on a difference computer. I installed Recentral first, and the driver. I then installed the Stream Engine. I then ended skype and chrome, and restarted. I then made sure everything was ended in task manager and opened recentral, i set the video settings i would want...(this part is more voodoo than science, but people suggested it to work), i closed recentral and opened the stream engine. From there i opened the 32 bit version as an administrator, tried to add the LGP and got a black screen. Note, i did a test with recentral to make sure the feed was infact working.

If there is some magical fix in those steps im missing, from a fresh start, please do tell. i am still lost.

Unfortunately deinterlacing is still running into some technical issues and has been pushed back to 0.13.0. I recommend just using OBS Classic instead until deinterlacing has been added.

Let me just go in to a slight rant first: Unfortunately, my best personal advice for serious streamers recording consoles (or well, anything) tends to be in terms of equipment. For example, one should never buy a USB 2.0 capture device for any serious stream; people tend to buy USB 2.0 capture devices without realizing what they're getting in to, thinking they're getting a good deal. However, as you've seen their encoded signal delays the video/audio from the console massively, causes a configuration nightmare, and also uses needless extra CPU for decoding that signal. Secondly, one should not use laptops for serious streams (not that you're necessarily using one, though usually that's another major reason why people buy USB 2.0 devices). I mean laptops can be okay for certain things, and can sometimes be used for serious streams, but honestly if you really want a top notch stream you should be using a desktop PC, almost always.

Were you on a PCI-E device (best option) or USB 3.0 device (second best option), you would have been able to get the capture up and running immediately. Not sure what devices among PCI-E/USB 3.0 are the best for capturing older consoles though.

Anyway, yea, I had to push back deinterlacing to 0.13.0 as well, which sucked. Just had no choice. 0.12.0 took too much time as it is.

Thank you both for your reply. I've had a long day of shit regarding this. I would have purchased a USB 3.0/PCI-e card but from the research i did, the only better option would have been to get a Black Magic Intensity, which supposedly would have been even more finicky because of motherboard support. (Motherboard i dont have). As well, most usb 3.0 cards don't cover what im trying to do well. (480i over component)

Is there a step i missed, a solution i didnt cover? I just used a wayback machine to get the previous download of their driver in the hopes that their windows 10 patch broke it. I also tried a windows 10 pc with no luck regardless.

I still have had no luck with getting .655b OBS 32bit to capture the LGP Stream Engine's output. (Im getting a black screen, not a red screen.)

at this point 0.13.0 is my only hope.

edit:: Dodgepong i've seen your posts on reddit and else before, if either of you have a suggestion of a card for streaming Projectm/melee specifically i would love to hear it.

The Live Gamer Extreme uses USB 3.0, captures 1080p60 without delay (1 to 2 frames tops) or compression, can record component as well as HDMI, has a HDMI Passthrough Port and supports resolutions down to 480i.

I came from an Elgato Game Capture HD and I can't sing the LGX's praise enough.

Well, let's not lose focus, here. The LGP isn't great, sure, but the main issue is with deinterlacing. Even if he had a better capture card, the main issue comes from the lack of deinterlacing.

However, another solution might be to get an inexpensive card that still works very will with standard definition capturing and would work better with Amarec. The AVerMedia c039 is a very good choice for SD (480i) capturing, runs over USB 2.0 (and it's not an HD capture device, so the problems with USB 2.0 devices don't apply here), and works very well with OBS and Amarec, and only runs around $40. A steal, in my opinion.

This may be out of your knowledge, but given that its only capturing 480i, would the c039 be able to capture the same quality video as the LGP or the Live Gamer Extreme?
