Question / Help 80% CPU usage while idle with one scene and no sources

Hi,

Tried my first stream earlier and it progressively got laggier and laggier over the courses of 1hr30 until it was dropping so many frames that it becameunwatchable.

I closed OBS and restarted and CPU usage is now at 80%, while idle, with one scene with no sources, and both streaming and recording fail.

This is with a GeForce 1080GTX and Xeon E5-25620 on Shadow (Windows 10).

Logs are attached (first one is the stream, second is for the second stream attempt after restart).

Any pointers?

Your video card drivers are broken.

Find it hard to pin it on drivers for this one given that OBS was using all of this CPU while idle - *no encoding*.

When they're causing obs to fall back to the microsoft basic render driver which is basically emulating a video card on your processor, it's not surprising that you're getting high cpu use.
