I'm using an Nvidia GTX 750TI video card and running a low-resource game ("King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match"). With the game in Windowed or Fullscreen Mode, the game's FPS syncs to 60FPS (there's no way to disable the game's vsync). When OBS is projecting its preview, though, the game's framerate syncs to 30 when in Windowed Mode. When in Fullscreen Mode, the game runs at 60FPS regardless. Why would this be?
In a previous post, I pointed out that, when OBS Studio has a Preview Projector open, YouTube and Twitch videos sometimes stutter.
In all of the above cases, GPU-Z shows that my video card is far from breaking a sweat. Task Manager shows very low CPU usage.
I'm not recording or streaming in any of these scenarios; OBS Studio is simply open, completely empty (no sources), projecting its (black and lifeless) Preview to my second monitor.
The issue persists whether I'm using the Direct3D renderer or the OpenGL renderer.
Any idea as to why this could be? I'm particularly interested in why King of Fighters would be able to sync to 60FPS while in Fullscreen Mode, but not in Windowed Mode.
I'm also uploading a log of a 10-second recording, although, again, this problem occurs whenever the Preview Projector is open, independently of whether I'm recording, streaming, or doing none of the above. This recording is at 60FPS, but the problems with 'King of Fighters 2002' also occur when OBS is running at 30FPS (I just went back to 60FPS recording when I saw that it made no difference).
