Hi all,
Got a question about my MK. II recording a few things recently. Picture quality is pitch-perfect, and I even fixed an annoying stuttering problem by turning off Psycho-Visual tuning (which, even on a card dedicated only to rendering, can still cause dropped frames).
However, I have a question about audio.
I play games in 5.1 LPCM in machines that support it (PS3, PS4, XBOX ONE X, PC) by running these machines through a Yamaha AVR. However, some of these games, like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on PC and Killzone 2 on PS3, do not have their audio properly downsampled from 5.1 LPCM into a 2.0 stereo format.
See these links for examples. Notice how in Killzone 2, there are voices and gunfire missing, and how combat noises in Sekiro don't make it into the 2.0 implementation either.
However, in examples like WipEout Omega on PS4 and Halo: MCC on XBOX ONE X, the sound has zero issues. See these links:
So, is this issue game specific? And if not, is there anything I can do to remedy this? Should I be capturing in 5.1 and just let YouTube downsample it?
Log file from the Sekiro capture attached.
Thanks for any help in advance.
