I just went through an experience where a camera I bought (twice actually) with a USB3.0 UVC output that is not compatible with the Mac OS. I troubleshooted the first one for several hours. HDMI, SDI, Web interface all worked flawlessly with a great image. OBS on my Mac recognized a UVC source, but only a black screen. Also true with FaceTime (which requires a UVC compatible camera or an iPhone's camera). Tech support suggested a firmware update which I successfully applied, but no change so I sent the first one back concluding that there was a hardware problem. I Ordered another one but then got the idea to ask the tech support if there was compatibility issues with Mac OS. Bingo! Unfortunately, the shipping notification arrived before I got an answer about Mac OS. The second one arrives tomorrow so I won't even open it... I had no idea that UVC is not as universal as the name implies...
By the way, the Cameras that I am sending back are Zowietek NDI 12X https://zowietek.com/product/4k-ptz-camera/
So now I ordered this one form a different brand and will hope for different results. It will be a crapshoot, as I don't think the company even has a website. Fingers crossed!
