4k OBS macbook pro

So I just got a logitec brio 4k and trying it out in obs. Massive lag. Video delay and audio sync issues.

I didnt realize I needed a beast to run 4k video live. I got a 2015 macbook pro.

Pretty fast. But apparently not enough.

I checked apples website to see if they had 4k video on their new macbook pros. They only have 720p webcams. Kinda shocking and embarrasing.

So i assume that means apple macbook pros cannot process higher quality video than 720p. Which seems to be the standard for the last 8 years of macbook pros.

Im going to keep trying to make this work. I even tried bootcamp and it seems no better.

But I suspect PCs are better at this and cheaper.

If anyone is trying to do 4k video on a macbook pro please share some tips.

P.s. i also notice photobooth does a feed from the camera without any lag. But i cant say its 4k. Maybe 1080.

I can't see this happening on a Mac. I own the same Macbook as you and to get decent settings, let alone 4k, you need a Windows PC /Laptop with NVIDIA graphics card to look "decent" in HD let alone 4k. OBS can't access any graphics card hardware encoders (so even if you had NVIDIA chip in your Macbook Pro, OBS can't see use it).

I'm stuck with several Macs in my life and really don't want any Windows PC hardware in my life so I'm making my stream work as best it can on Mac.

You may have better luck with EcammLive but I wouldn't be surprised if thats also better on Windows.
