4 channel interface 5.1 output

using a 4 channel interface with 5.1 output having issue with OBS actually initializing all 4 tracks of the interface.
set it to 4.0 output and it works fine, but i'm trying to use ambisonics and mid-side techniques to get the final 5.1 output. my interfaces only have 4 tracks but i'm trying to output 5.1 by using ambisonic VST and midside VST. i have a DMS and a tetra. two 4 track interfaces. perfectly appropriate for 5.1 output, tho i understand the numbers don't match up perfectly... it seems odd this isn't working. when set to 5.1 it's ignoring teh x tracks from my 4.0 ambix input isn't getting the X track from the start because why? what? why? why would it do that? i feel like i'm missing something obvious

is that bottom track, it's just ignoring it. no filters. i know it's working. it only ignores it in 5.1, if it wanted a 6 track interface what does it show 4? it knows it's a 4 track interface, i suspect it's a conflict here between the 5.1 setting and it being 4 track interface...

i mean, it's not showing all tracks active. it should at least show that. without having to configure anything. the 4 default tracks from the one interface shouldn't be biffed up like that, what the heck is happening?

from the surround guide:

⚠ IMPORTANT WARNING: make sure to select the same channel layout as your input (if you have a 4.1 audio source do not select 7.1). If you don't, channel mixing may (or may not) occur. There is an automatic channel rematrixing when either downmixing or upmixing is mandated by a difference in channel layouts between source and output. This channel rematrixing mixes channels in general. Or it can remove a channel (ex: 3.1 source to 4.0 output removes the LFE channel).

okay? so, what now? what is anyone supposed to do? what a worthless broadcast software. how the hek? who ever heard of 5.1 audio interface? this is just basic channel matrix and obs devs can't be bothered? i can plug in a mono mic and use it for stereo just fine why can't i use a 4.0 interface with 5.1 output? that's completely asinine. a DMS is traditional basic 5.1 mic array, only needs 2 input tracks to get 5.1 out. basic MS array is enough for 5.1

this issue about "This channel rematrixing" YEAH, hey here's an idea, LET ME DO THAT

my issue specifically that 4th channel is just gone and i need it to not be gone imma try fuma

okay... i've sort of answered my own question... well, no i asked ai to help, used Virtual Audio Cable to make a 6 channel output and that did it, just listening to the 4 channel interface over the six channel output did the trick. but... really should default functions kinda weird you can't map audio input/outputs to respective channels and pans stuff, the most basic of analog mixing functions but it doesn't matter i've figured out how to run around in a circle for no reason.
