Question / Help 4-5 seconds delay with LAN RTMP Streaming server

Hi everyone,

We've used this guide to setup an RTMP server on a Linux laptop which is connected to our network. We've been streaming from our studio's various machines to the server and fetching the stream on our "streaming" machine.

Unfortunately, there is a delay of around 4-5 seconds. That means the person streaming to the RTMP server is about 5 seconds ahead of the stream I'm pulling on our streaming machine.

I assume this is normal, however I was wondering if anyone had tips on how to reduce this delay?

I'm not sure how good it works but it should have lower latency and still work with vlc or media source in obs on your streaming machine.

I tried that (and followed the steps best as I can) but unfortunately OBS "encounters an error" pop up when I click start recording.

I have the same problem, and I use a cloud computing, so I can't use the pratice of the UDP...
