Question / Help 34gb MP4 error opening

I recently recorded gameplay with my friends for about 2 and a half hours and once i was done the next morning i came back to my computer to use that video to edit and make a youtube video. I go to my recorded videos and it shows the MP4 file and i can see the size of the file, its just not able to open, it looks as if you just open the folder then the mp4 files havent fully loaded so you see the music note and film reel but it doesnt change and i cant open it, it says Windows media cannot open this file.

Do i open VLC Media Player then click "Media" -> "Open File" ?

When i try to open it in VLC it shows the time slider at the bottom turns to 00:00 and starts to load etc. but then resets and goes back to as if i just opened the program

There is nothing under "codec" or "Metadata" in the "Tools" tab

Did you successfully stop the recording, or did something cause it to stop? MP4 files write their metadata at the end, so if the recording was terminated prematurely there won't be a metadata chunk.

Record to FLV or MKV. If you record to MP4 and OBS crashes or is otherwise interrupted, the file will be corrupted and typically unrecoverable. If you require MP4 files for some other purpose like editing, remux them afterwards. Select File > Remux Recordings.
