Question / Help 2nd PC dedicated to streaming (i3 cpu)

I currently have a PC (phenom II 965 x4 @ 3.4ghz/8GB ram/750ti gpu). I can stream 720p/60fps @ 4000kbps on very fast preset just fine from a game console. The problem is when I want to play more demanding PC games. I am thinking about dedicating a 2nd PC for this.

My question is, does anyone have any experience with an i3 2120 cpu? It looks to be on par with the phenom II I currently have. If it can do 720p/60fps/4000kbps/very fast preset, I'm set.

I know the phenom has more cores than the i3, but then there;s the threading to take into account, and also with intel having more performance for the mhz. I'm just having problems debating apples/oranges on these cpus and how it will perform with OBS. shot in the dark, thanks for reading.

note, the 750ti will be staying in the gaming PC. the i3 PC would just be using integrated graphics. not interested in nvenc or intel quicksync either.

First, lower your bitrate. The recommended bitrate is between 2700-3250 for non-partnered streamers. You won't be able to play very demanding PC games with a 750 Ti. I had one and the most fps you get on BF4 is around 60-70 on medium. There is a OBS estimator tool for trying different CPU's. https://obsproject.com/estimator

Thanks for the reply.
I'm on youtube gaming where that bitrate limitation is not an issue
I'm already playing games off the 750ti, I'm wanting to use a 2nd PC to do the streaming.
The estimator seems outdated, I was hoping to find someone here who has used an i3 for OBS (and OBS alone, not gaming).
